A daughter worries about her mother's abusive boyfriend — and decides to do something about it.
Set "anywhere", floating across the last few decades, Wendy and her teenage daughter Vee enjoy the seaside — until Vee notices bruises on her mother's shoulder. When Wendy's abusive partner pushes too far, the pair are drawn into a dark, blackly comic spiral of discovery in their own family home.
Is Wendy a good person doing bad things, or a bad person doing good things? A fast-paced, intimately character-focused thriller with hints of horror — and a streak of pitch-black humour.
"Wendy is a metaphor for the glitter and the dark we hold within — what we choose to remember, and what we don't."
